Athletics |
Dedicated to educate the whole child (mind, body, and soul), Sacred Heart has implemented an athletics program to help accomplish this goal. Laying the foundation for this program are soccer, tennis and cross-country. As the the school continues to grow, Sacred Heart hopes to add baseball, football, basketball, volleyball, golf, bowling, and softball. |
At Sacred Heart of Jesus High School we know that the principles used to be successful in athletics can be also applied to the spiritual life as St. Paul writes in his first letter to the Corinthians. Do you not know that in a race all the runners compete, but only one recieves the prize? So run that you may obtain it. Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to recieve a pershable wreath, but we an imperishable. Well, I do not run aimlessly, I do not box as one beating the air; but I pommel my body and subdue it, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified (1 Cor 9:24-27).
